I spotted this lively glass bird at a bric-a-brac stall in Sweden recently. It has no markings but is incredibly well made and I wondered if you could tell me a little more about it and what it might be worth. I paid about £4.

Most of the major Swedish glassworks identified their work with paper, foil and then cellophane stickers. Unfortunately your bird, a typical product and widely made, has lost all means of identifying the specific manufacturer. I can tell you that it’s a tourist-quality Swedish souvenir dating from the 1960s, a time when as many as 10,000 workers were directly employed by the main glassworks there. You paid about the right price for it.
